平安時代の楽琵琶の名手 蝉丸が弾いていたとされる四曲の秘曲と、雅楽にインスパイアされた即興演奏、関蝉丸神社上社の蝉たちとの即興セッションから古代ギリシャのアポロンへの賛歌、そして古代詩を元にした旋律が収められている。24ページの図解入りライナーノーツ付き。
“SEMIMARU” is an album that features esoteric biwa pieces that were supposedly played by the blind biwa master Semimaru from the early 900’s, improvisations inspired by gagaku, an improvisation with cicadas at the Semimaru Shrine (semi=cicadas), an ancient hymn to Apollo, and a piece based on a poem by Anytis. Includes a 24 page liner notes in Japanese and English.
